The Peachtree Bridge, is a combined bridge and tuner assembly designed for headless guitars. It comes in two versions:

The Standard Version, provides intuitive tuner locations, in other words the E-strings are on the outside, as you might expect. This results in  is somewhat larger and heavier assembly, and offsets the tuner housing relative to the bridge. 

The Compact Version, is smaller and the tuner housing is centered on the bridge, However, the tuners must be offset within the housing to provide the smallest possible package size. 

Both versions operate the same way, which is covered on the “Tuner Users Guide” page.

1 - Self-locking design: The tuner crimps the string in opposite directions inside the housing, which locks the string in place. The 20:1 ratio tuners achieve string lock at about half to three quarters of one full rotation, depending on the string size (thin strings requires more turns) and how much slack is provided while stringing.

2 - Low profile allows the tuner to be tucked away into the body of a guitar. The luthier can design the openings per the drawings provided below, or come up with your your own layouts, as long as they meet the basic dimensions for the bridge and housing height. In designs that do not include neck angles, such as my Trouper travel guitar, the bridge can be inset into the front of the guitar by 3 mm, to make it flush to the front surface. The housing cutout depth should be 13 mm from the base of the bridge so that the edge of the housing is flush with the edge of the read cavity. Remember that the Bridge/Tuner assembly mounts from under the guitar, so no mounting screws visible on the top. As a result, a rear cavity must be included to provide space for the screws that secure the assembly to the guitar, and for the player’s fingers or string winder to get into the area for tuning.

3 - The tuners use standard  buttons that are easily turned by hand or string winder. These can be replaced by the luthier, but the long dimension is critical, as the tuners are very close together and the buttons could hit each other if they are too long.

4 - Full height and intonation adjustments on each string, the saddles are similar to standard Stratocaster saddles. The saddles we use are provided by either GraphTech or Hipshot.

The standard Peachtree Bridge is aimed at standard 6 six string guitars. Versions for seven or more strings, bass, and other stringed instruments can be developed for your designs. Note that all types of instruments, string configurations, and vibrato/tremolo systems are covered under US Patent.
